Open Meeting Policy

The Mattituck-Laurel Library is subject to Open Meetings Law. All regular monthly meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Mattituck-Laurel Library are open to the general public.  All meetings of the Board of Trustees shall be governed by the provisions of Article 7 of the Public Officers Law of New York (Open Meetings Law). https://www.dos.ny.gov/coog/openmeetlaw.html There will be a period of public expression at the beginning of the meeting wherein district residents are invited to address the Board. Each speaker is limited to five minutes.  Matters upon which Board action is desired should be submitted in writing to the Board of Trustees, care of the Library Director, at least one week in advance of the Board meeting.
