District Patrons

Individuals who live or own property in Mattituck or Laurel can register for a library card.   Proof of residency is required and must show a street address.   A post office box is not sufficient proof of residency.

  • Driver's License
  • Deed to Property
  • Property Tax Receipt
  • Lease Agreement
  • Copy of a Utility Bill

Sign up for a digital library card then visit the library to obtain your physical card. Your eCard will give you access to Livebrary electronic resources and OverDrive. There is a 30 day expiration on eCards (from the creation date).

Individuals who reside in the district for 2 months or less can register for a temporary "Local Use Only" card.   A $25.00 refundable deposit will be required.   Individuals must provide a lease agreement or other documents stating a rental address along with identification of their permanent address when registering.   These cards are for "Local Use Only."   This means the cards may be used at this library only, no where else in Suffolk County.

Individuals who work in the district may register for a library "courtesy card" with full borrowing privileges.   Proof of employment is required.   This card can only be used at our library.
