Getting Started
Step 1: Download Hoopla, Freegal or Kanopy
All apps are available for download on all IOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. Apps are also available on all desktop computers and laptops, simply go to the website and log in.
Step 2: Signing in will require your library card.
Signing in will require that you find your library and use your library card barcode to login. This code is found on the back of your library card. Please make sure that you are not including any spaces when you enter your barcode, and double-check that you have entered the correct numbers. Our barcodes contain multiple zeros, which has caused visual problems in the past. Password resets can be accomplished by visiting the Livebrary website. Please note you will have to come into the library to reset the password if you do not have an email address associated with your library account.
Step 3: Stream & Listen
Once you have logged on to your account, you will be able to stream and listen. Please note that Kanopy only allows you to watch 10 movies per month.
How Can I Stream and Listen for free?
Patrons of the library may use their card to stream movies, listen to music and access a variety of content types. Depending on specific needs, a different app may be appropriate. All apps require the user to hold a valid Suffolk County Library card.
