In Celebration of AAPI Month,
THE TENEMENT MUSEUM: THE WONG FAMILY. Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30pm via Zoom.
You are invited to 103 Orchard Street on the Lower East Side of New York in the 1970s to meet the Wongs. Explore their apartment and the recreated garment shop, learn about their neighborhood and how their experiences reflect that of the Chinese communities as well as the impact on the garment industry in New York - all within the context of the history of the Chinese Exclusion Act and subsequent immigration laws.
