From secret lives rediscovered to famous activists and organizations, join us for an exploration of the LGBTQIA+ history of the Lower East Side in this interactive virtual program. Making use of oral histories from residents of our historic tenement buildings, personal memoirs, and archival research, we will examine a century of material tracing the unique connection between our neighborhood and the growth of Queer culture and identity in New York City and beyond. An East End Libraries Event hosted by Westhampton Free Library.
